By February 1937, Australia is crawling out of the Great Depression, but greater dangers lurk on the horizon. Young country lad, Sebastian Carmichael is trying to make ends meet in the tough inner suburbs of Melbourne, when he is joined by his bubbly sister, Lettie.
A chance encounter with passionate university student, William Reinecke and his beautiful girlfriend, Elaine, lead them into a Melbourne society ready to boil over with political tensions.
