16-year-old witches Emma, Lia and Shar barely survived a life-threatening assault by zealot bullies who targeted Lia and Shar for being a lesbian couple.  Their wounds aren't even healed when the police start interrogating them. The bullies' parents want them arrested for manslaughter.  Meanwhile, Emma has an otherworldly visit with her grandmothers and learns that witch hunters have been hired to kill her, Lia and Shar.  How can the girls dodge the police and hunters?  Magick, of course, must be the answer! But the girls know all too well that spells can't solve everything and sometimes have costly side-effects.
