After reaching European shores and finding refuge in Germany, Yusra went back to training and ended up participating in both the Rio and Tokyo Olympics. The sisters’ story was turned into a Netflix movie, The Swimmers, in 2022 and they were named among Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2023. Here, Yusra shares an update with marie claire.
